The Rigging Electric works before the shoot: they set up the permanent lighting installation for a location, often days in advance and independently of the ongoing shooting operations.
Why This Runs Separately
Because ceiling suspensions, trusses, and cable routes cannot be built between two takes. When the camera crew enters the location, the basic installation should be in place — then only fine-tuning remains, and that's the difference between three hours of setup and thirty minutes.

- Trusses and suspensions, with structural proof and fall protection.
- Permanent power lines from the generator or mains connection to the distribution boxes.
- Pre-installation of luminaires in positions that are no longer accessible later.
- Dismantling after the shoot concludes — also outside of shooting time.
