The Rain Tower is the grand solution: a scaffold or telescopic mast with nozzles at its apex. From a height of ten to twenty meters, the water is distributed over a wide area and falls for long enough to resemble rain.
Why Height Matters
Drops falling from a low height descend as a stream and look like a shower. Only over a certain falling distance does the water break up into individual droplets with varying speeds — and that is what the eye perceives as rain.
What the Setup Entails
- Water Volume. Tanks, pumps, often a hydrant connection with permit.
- Stability and Wind. A mast with a water load is sensitive to wind; guy wires are mandatory.
- Drainage. Where the water runs is part of the location permit — not a concern for the neighbor the next day.
