Coordinates day-to-day transportation: shuttles between basecamp and set, cast pickups, and equipment runs. Reports to the Transportation Coordinator.
The Transport Coordinator keeps the vehicles running, while the Transport Manager leads the department. They schedule individual trips and are the point of contact for anyone needing a vehicle.
Daily Operations
- Cast Pickups — from hotel or apartment to basecamp, with buffer for traffic.
- Shuttle between crew parking, basecamp, and set, on schedule.
- Courier Runs — materials that need to be delivered, data carriers to the post office, spare parts from rental companies.
Where it Fails
Due to lack of lead time. A pickup ordered ten minutes before the required arrival is not an order. Therefore, the next day's schedule is available with the disposition in the evening — and changes are reported as soon as they are known, not when they occur.
