The daily plan prepared the evening before each shoot day, listing scenes, call times, cast, extras, locations, and special requirements. Known in English as the Call Sheet.
The call sheet is the most important piece of paper on a production — the only place where the complete next shooting day is laid out. It is created the evening before, released by production, and sent to everyone.
What's on it
- Scenes in shooting order, with location, time of day, and page count.
- Times — Crew Call, Shooting Call, scheduled meal, expected wrap.
- Cast with individual calls for makeup, costume, and set.
- Extras by number and type.
- Special requirements — vehicles, animals, stunts, effects, children, anything that needs advance preparation or permits.
- Weather, travel directions, addresses, emergency numbers, and the nearest hospital.
Why it's sent in the evening
Because it reflects the actual status of the day, not the planned status. What wasn't accomplished today will be on tomorrow's sheet. A call sheet sent in the morning is already incorrect by the evening.
